Collaborating to Celebrate Indigenous Heritage in Education

Today, Dr. Mauricio, Dr. Daniels, and Board member Vele met with Ms. Chalan to seek her guidance in incorporating indigenous people from the Caribbean, South America, and Central America into the Peekskill City School District's Latino History Gallery.
This year's theme for Hispanic Heritage Month is "Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together." The school district is working with partners to embrace this theme throughout the year. The district is looking forward to launching this initiative as part of the next installation of the gallery.
