Penn Yan Residents Alerted to Water Discoloration During Flushing
Staff Report / FLXlocal.org
The Village of Penn Yan will be flushing hydrants during the week of October 7th. Residents may notice a discoloration in their household water as a result. According to the Village, this discoloration does not indicate that the water is unsafe for consumption.
If residents experience discolored water, they are advised to run cold water from their tap for 3-5 minutes. After that, they should fill a glass with water and check its clarity. If the water remains discolored, residents should wait 15-20 minutes and try the process again.
For any further questions, residents can contact the Department of Public Works at 315-279-3565.
