Dispose Batteries at S.A.F.E. Centers, Not Bins

Staff Report / LAXlocal.org

The Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles Sanitation & Environment are urging residents to properly dispose of used or dead batteries and rechargeable devices. Recent incidents of fires in trash and recycling collection vehicles have been linked to the improper disposal of these items.

Residents are advised to take their used batteries and rechargeable devices to a S.A.F.E. Center, rather than placing them in the trash or recycling bins. The initiative is part of a broader commitment to zero waste and efficient water use in the city.

For more information on S.A.F.E. Center locations, residents can visit lacitysan.org/safecenters.
