**Two Arrested for Attempted Murder of JSO Detectives**

Sheriff T.K. Waters announced the arrests of Anthony Trotter and Ja'von Brown, both charged with two counts of attempted murder for an ambush on two Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) undercover detectives.

The incident occurred on September 20 during a narcotics investigation on Florida Avenue, where at least 18 rounds were fired at the detectives' vehicle. Several bullets struck the car, narrowly missing the detectives inside. The shooter fled the scene in a silver sedan.

Using surveillance footage and advanced technology, investigators identified the suspect vehicle. Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested Trotter, who was identified as the getaway driver. Brown, believed to be the shooter, was later located and arrested by the SWAT team at his residence after an arrest warrant was issued.

Investigators say Brown discharged his weapon believing he was targeting rival gang members, not police officers. Both suspects have been taken into custody within six days of the shooting.

The arrests were made possible through a coordinated effort involving multiple JSO units, including the Robbery and Violent Crimes Unit, Gang Unit, Community Problem Response Unit, SWAT Unit, Computer Forensics Unit, Real Time Crime Center, and Crime Analysis Unit. The State Attorney’s Office also assisted with legal support during the investigation.

Trotter and Brown are currently held in the Duval County jail facing attempted murder charges.
