Austin Parks and Recreation in Austin, Texas is offering a free cooking class with Common Threads for adults and kids in 3rd through 8th grade. The class aims to teach participants how to cook together, incorporate healthy habits at home, and maintain existing traditions. The classes will focus on healthy cooking methods and cost-saving recipes.

The cooking classes will be held on Tuesday, July 30 and August 6 from 6-8pm at the Montopolis Recreation Center located at 1200 Montopolis Dr.

Lesson 1 will cover Grab & Go Breakfast options such as Oatmeal Bars, Mini Frittatas, and a Sneaky Green Smoothie. Lesson 2 will focus on Healthy Cooking Methods featuring Roasted Chicken, Roasted Cauliflower, and Herbed Quinoa Salad.
