The Suncoast Bistro at North Port Suncoast Technical College (STC) will host a Caribbean Fusion Cuisine special from Tuesday, October 8, 2024, to Thursday, October 10, 2024. The bistro will be open for lunch from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM each day.

Two main dish combos will be available for $15.95 each. The first option is the Mojo Pork Taco Combo, which features slowly braised mojo marinated pork loin with citrus dressing, topped with cabbage slaw, fruit salsa, and avocado cream. This combo comes with sweet plantains and Caribbean rice, along with a beverage and dessert. The second option is the Jerk Chicken Taco Combo, consisting of jerk-marinated and grilled chicken breast, served similarly with the same sides and accompaniments.

Dessert will include a Rum Cake, a thick and moist rum-infused cake topped with a creamy coconut rum glaze. Additional a la carte items will be available, including Mojo Pork Tacos and Jerk Chicken Tacos for $12.95 each, fried yuca and Caribbean rice for $3.95 each, rum cake for $4.95, and beverages such as tea and lemonade.

The Bistro operates on a cashless system for safety but accepts tips to help with occasional supply needs. This month marks the culinary program's return to service after missing last month due to Hurricane Idalia. The next cuisine featured at the Bistro will be Italian from October 29 to October 31, 2024. Community members are encouraged to support the students by joining for their meals.
